An island on the Nile, Philæ holds the souvenir of Goddess Isis dear. Built by one of the last pharaohs, Nectanebo 1st, the temple that celebrates Isis’ creative powers stood the test of time surrounded by flowing waters. It naturally welcomed native papyrus, which were used for books and manuscripts. The Philæ candle is scented with a soft papyrus fragrance that evokes a timeless heritage. Natural wax candle. Weight 9.5 oz/270 g. Burn time 55 to 65 hours. Made in France.
For Christmas, Cire Trudon brings ancient Egypt back to life: outstanding pyramids (Gizeh), an Egyptian God (Amon) and an island on the Nile River (Philæ) compose a trio of timeless scented candles. Cire Trudon celebrates the festive season with three exclusive scents: traditional incense, notes of papyrus and the comforting presence of a candied-firewood hearten the soul. More, the collection celebrates ancient Egypt’s evocative power: the visionary architecture of the Gizeh pyramids; the strength of Amon, a revered, mysterious God; and the timeless geography of Philæ, a protected island on the Nile River. On the handcrafted boxes, hieroglyphs and acronyms hint at the enigmatic civilisation: an eye, a branch of papyrus, a sculptural eagle or a helping hand mimic ancient tales. Standing out, the name of each scented candle is written in a distinct manner that suggests a treasure, geography or secret divinity. Gold on the inside, the three candles come in off-white, watery-green and mosaic-pink coloured glasses. The trio – called ‘Odeurs d’Egypte’ - reveals the sacred nature of Egypt’s ancient rituals and myths.
